| The Site: This is a delightful, small membership run club in a wooded scenic area of Dorset with mature, natural screening and 6ft fence panels. The pitches are laid out on lawns with small hedges between them. There is water on site, but drinking water is in limited supply and to help the club, members wishing to attend this rally are asked to take a full Aquaroll in with them. Arrangements for replenishing drinking water have been made with a textile site just down the lane. The District: Located just off the A37, approx halfway between Yeovil and Dorchester, there are plenty of scenic walks and local attractions, such as the Friary of St Francis, RNAS Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, historic Yeovil and Dorchester, Weymouth and Studland Beach. From Dorchester on A37: after approx. 10 miles at bottom of hill about 0.3 miles past café/diner on right (with large green ball shaped water tower) turn right into uncl. road SP Batcombe and Mintern Magna. From either direction: continue along road towards Batcombe for approx. 2.5 miles. Pass Hilfield picnic area on left. Club entrance in a further 0.25 miles on left steel railing gate with 6 ft. wooden fence panels either side. |
