There were enough incidents and good times to fill a few editions of the clubs magazine, ‘The Trecker’
Our thanks to all the rally officers, including those who ‘volunteered’ at very short notice, for the great time they gave us and to the sun which shone down most of the time. For those that like to book their ferries early, or just like to think of summer sun, frolics, excellent company good food, and wine, the dates for 2010 are: 5th – 12th June, Clos Marot (nr St Nazaire), 12th- 19th June, La Petite Brenne (nr Argeton sur Creuse) and 19th – 27th June,Le Petite Dauphin (nr Royan). In September we are at: 4th- 14th, Le Courderc (nr Bergerac) and 14th – 24th, Deveze (nr Auch). The Mediterranean (either Spain or France) beckons for those who want to extend their summer even further. Do come and join us!

Continental Rallies 2009

The 2009 continentals were enjoyed by all who attended them. Plenty of members crossed the Channel, despite the credit crunch, to dip their toes in the Atlantic, Creuse, Dordogne and Mediterranean waters.
One member managed to be at all 5 rallies - Creuse Nature, Le Herpiniere, Clos Marot, Le Courderc and Cap d’Agde – and managed to win nearly all the boule  tournaments (or so he claims!) another wowed us with her singing.
Invitation rally at St Annes June 2009

After the terrific rain showers on our way to Suntreckers first Invitation Rally at in June the weather changed and we had wall to wall sunshine for 9 of the 10 days.  A great time was had by members and visitors alike.  The Rally Officers arranged coffee mornings, afternoon teas and pancakes. Others arranged a quiz and a boules melee and the sight of 25 people playing boules on the same field caused a great deal of amusement to other holidaymakers at the site.  During one get together we were entertained by a member who recited a very funny poem after which we were all reduced to fits of laughter.
On Tuesday evening 45 of us went for a meal at the local pub and on Thursday 40 portions of fish and chips were collected to eat on site. One member had spent an afternoon picking strawberries and brought them along, with tubs of cream, for us to eat for pudding
There were a few mishaps, though, such as the member that had a hole in his fire bucket and did not realise it until he arrived back at his van and it was empty and another breaking his chair and also splitting his shoes.  Luckily there is a camping shop just down the road and it did a roaring trade.
The rally was very successful and several guests signed the dotted line to become members there and then, all enjoying many happy times attending further rallies.
Many thanks to Rally Officers for all their hard work and help to make the rally such fun.   Diane
